Cheque Padding Registry entry

Specifies the total number of digits in a cheque number. The actual cheque number is padded with 0s up to the number of digits specified by this Registry entry.

This entry specifies how many digits are used when printing cheque numbers on cheques used by the Vital Records Office for outgoing payments.

Note: Only one Cheque Padding entry should exist. An integer value must be specified.

where:

value

is the total number of digits in the cheque number. The actual cheque number is padded with 0s up to value.

This entry specifies that 8 digits are used for cheque numbers:

If the next available cheque number is 24, it will be printed as: 00000024.
